Blog Journal 9

I have had plenty of experience with distance learning in my life. The most significant experience was when covid 19 first hit. Schools had never prepared for all online stuff, so it took a while to finally adjust. I liked distance learning because it was easier, and I had to do less. I disliked it because I didn't learn the material like I should have.

OER resources are stuff that people can use for free. If a creator has this, they are authorizing the use of it in other people's projects. I decided to include a resource that is an example of OER material. I found it on the official OER website, and it discusses basic earth science.

I really liked working on the jeopardy project because it was really fun. I have never made a PowerPoint with a game so it was fun to learn how to do it. The voiceover PowerPoint was something I had done before, so it wasn't new. However, I do not like hearing my own voice, so it was not my favorite.

Blog journal 7

When I was in high school, most of my teachers had a blog or website that you were supposed to check daily. I decided to go find an old teachers current website to look at. I found the senior percalculus website that they still use. It cintains the 2 teachers emails, suggested items for the class, and all the unit worksheets.  You can click on each unit and find the calender with all the quizzes and tests.

When I am a teacher, I also plan on having a website. I think that it can not only be helpful for the students but also for me. I plan on having the units and calenders posted just like my old teachers did. This will help me stay organized and also hopefully help the students.

I used to make websites for fun when I was younger so this wasnt my first time doing it. It was very similar to the other projects we have done and I used mostly the same skill set. I have learned that doing the past assignments has made doing the future assignments easier. I will definitly have a website for my class when I am a teacher.

Blog Journal 6

My intial experiences using Diigo were a little bit confusing. I thought that it was very similar to other browsers that I use and didnt see many differences. I still do not use it much but I plan on trying to use it as my main browser so I can start to understand it. I like the way that it lets you annotate and save websites to look at as resources later.

I have never really had a blog before so this is my first experience using one. I struggle with the idea of blogs since I dont like posting thoughts and feelings for everyone to see. I don't like how what I write will be up on the internet forever. However, I have learned that I do in fact enjoy that I have the ability to see all my answers and research in one place instead of all over different apps and websites.

A Web 2.0 tool I would like to use is Quizlet. I have used quizlet a lot for myself and love all the features it has. My favorite part is quizlet live where everyone can join in on a device and have a "quiz competition" as a group. I have found this to be a great way to incorperate a game with learning to make the experience more enjoyable.

Blog Journal 5

So far I havent found to much on twitter. I never have really used it so it was kind of new to me. I have been looking at stuff under different hashtags such as #teacher or #specialeducation. I have seen many different useful items that I can use in my future classroom.

The digital divide can strongly affect students success. Not every student has access to the same technology as others so it can give some students a strong disadvantage. If there is homework or work that needs to be done on a computer, and a student doesnt have it, it can put the student behind. In my classroom, I hope to have a laptop cart if I need my students to do something with technology.

I think that working on assignment 2 was very insightful. I have not used math technology apps or websites since I was younger so it was interesting to see how they evolved over the years. I tried to find a math app that I used to use as a kid but I could not find it. I downloaded an app called moose math to see if it was helpful. It was cool to see the fun ways that you can teach students stuff. I think it shows that no matter what, there is always a fun way to teach if you put in the effort.

Blog Journal 4

I picked grades 3-5 for the florida computer science standards. One of the standards for that grade level is to learn how to learn and improve working alone or with a group. I think that I feel prepared to teach this to students. There are many programs that help teach kids how to type and use computers. I can use those to help the students learn.

The grade level I picked was second grade. I was looking through all the standards and I thought they were very helpful. I could definitely use these resources in the future when I start teaching. It is a great place to make sure you are following the standards. It also has very helpful tips for how to teach these in an engaging way. I would definitely use these in the future.

I learned a lot about internet searching in class this week. I have heard about using image search before but I never actually tried it. I never thought that it would be that easy so it really opened my eyes to it. I think that this will be really useful to me in the future. I can definitely use it to help me find details about certain things I wouldnt be able to before.
